Katarina B.

Asst. General Manager

Fitness has always been a constant throughout Katarina’s life as she grew up doing gymnastics and played field hockey during high school and college. It taught her so much about teamwork, accountability and having grit. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising & Retail Marketing from the Business School at Johnson & Wales University, which is why she chose to move to Manhattan and pursue what she thought would be her dream job and career post-grad. While there, she found herself trying out all different types of workout classes in the city, which led her to reformer Pilates. Simultaneously, she signed up for her first half marathon as she was itching for another physical challenge to work towards. This eventually snowballed over time into a bucket list moment, running the New York City Marathon! She has found that Pilates complements running so well which she believes is the reason her body is feeling ready to run the Berlin Marathon September 2022.

After moving to the Bay Area, Katarina was craving a more fulfilling and dynamic career, and found a Pilates studio that offered Teacher Training where she jumped right into the Pilates world head first. Unsure how the pieces would fall, she just had a gut feeling that she would absolutely love teaching. Very quickly, she was fascinated with the history of Pilates, all of the equipment used, and loved the mindset and purpose behind each exercise. Katarina has been exposed to the various paths and different opportunities to explore in the pilates industry, which really excites her. She is thrilled to combine her experience in Merchandising, Retail and Business at Power4, where she is learning alongside the General Manager on what it takes to operate a Pilates studio.

Katarina’s goal is to create an upbeat and welcoming environment for members right when they walk in the door with the hope that their hour at Power4 is a time people look forward to, have fun, and learn to love moving their body. She finds such joy in working with people who are new to pilates and seeing their excitement when they start moving better and feeling stronger. Building relationships with members and seeing their progress right in front of her eyes is Katarina’s “why”. It fuels her fire and sharing this practice with all types of people makes her heart so happy. Pilates has truly changed Katarina’s life in all aspects and hopes she can continue to positively change many other peoples as well!

Kat K.

Lead Instructor

Kat has been teaching dance for over 20 years, with all the parallels between dance and Pilates, it came as second nature. Kat has been dancing professionally since she was 5 years old and has learned the ins and outs of the industry quite well. At the young age of 16, Kat worked alongside Alonzo King, Founder & Artistic Director of Lines Contemporary Ballet, who is often revered for altering the way we look at movement. From this experience and many others, Kat has incorporated this thought of movement into her own teaching style.

After growing up and dancing in the Bay Area, Kat moved to Los Angeles where she pursued her career in dance by working on movie, commercial and music video sets with some of the industry’s top choreographers such as Mark Meismer, Mandy Moore, Margruitte Derreks, & Chris Dupre to name a few. Some of her best times were traveling with many well-known dance conventions that toured all over the U.S. such as JUMP dance convention, West Coast Dance Explosion and Adrenaline Dance Convention. Kat has won multiple choreography awards and national titles from 2009 until the present day, and seeing off many of her own students as they too built their careers in the dance industry.

Kristy G.

Instructor

Hi my name is Kristy, I am a Pilates instructor and educator. I have a comprehensive certification from Equinox Pilates. I began doing Pilates mat class for exercise and self-care while teaching elementary school. I have a heart for adventure and spent multiple years teaching internationally. I’ve always been very active and enjoyed movement of all types. In addition to being a classroom teacher, I also taught dance class, and coached Cross Country and Track at the Middle School and High School level. I was thrilled when my Pilates mat instructor opened a reformer studio while I was living and teaching in Morocco. After teaching through the pandemic, I was ready for a change of pace. I spent a year completing my Comprehensive Pilates certification, and fell even more in love with Pilates. I believe that every human needs Pilates. It is a joy for me to share the magic of Pilates with my clients! One thing that excites me about Pilates is that there is always more you can learn. I believe Pilates is a powerful tool to challenge the body and mind, gain strength, mobility and control of the body. In addition to being preventive of injury, Pilates can help individuals rehabilitate and reclaim mobility and strength. When I’m not at the Pilates studio you can find me roller-skating, taking dance class, hiking, painting or hanging out with my adorable nieces and nephews!

Eight months before the grand opening of Power4, Jen and I crossed paths and I knew in my heart that this studio would be the perfect fit for me. The warm and welcoming environment, coupled with the expertise of the instructors, made it an easy decision for me to make Power4 my home. Driven by my love for Pilates, I was approached about teacher training and eagerly embarked on my journey in January. Becoming an apprentice instructor at the beginning of October marked an important milestone in my path to certification. I continue to devote my time and effort to accumulate the necessary hours to achieve my goal of becoming a certified Pilates instructor.

Beyond Pilates, I have a passion for the Bay Area sports teams: The Giants, Warriors, and especially the San Francisco 49ers. My children also participate in youth soccer, baseball, and football. As a devoted fan, my husband Josh and I cheer on all these teams with enthusiasm and loyalty.

Additionally, I have a deep affection for animals, embodying a compassionate spirit towards our furry friends. Currently, I have a senior Black Lab named Bella, and a teenage Tabby cat named George, who are extremely important parts of my family and provide me comfort anytime I need it!

My journey as a wife, mother, Pilates enthusiast, aspiring instructor, sports fan and animal lover showcases my dedication and enthusiasm for life. With my positive and determined mindset, I hope to make a lasting impact on those around me, both in and out of the Pilates studio.

Corina

Instructor
Hi, I’m Corina and I have been an instructor at Power 4 Pilates since March 2024. I came to know pilates first through barre. I had been in a marathon running group and loved the community and support that working out together with a group provided. However, once I had two little ones to push around in the stroller it started to get a lot more cumbersome. I had heard about the core benefits of pilates based barre and was thinking that would be the missing piece to add into my fitness routine. My first class was challenging for my core but the part that really struck me was how challenging it was for my entire body. That’s when I knew I wanted to keep going back and eventually began teaching barre. Near the end of 2023 a friend told me about Power 4 Pilates and was certain that I would love it as much as she did. I took a tour of the beautiful studio and with a leap of faith signed up the next day for the teacher training program. It has been a great experience to be in this welcoming community and I’ve felt supported and encouraged by both the staff and the members of Power 4. My favorite part about teaching pilates is getting to know the members and watching their progress unfold. I hope to see you in class soon!

Andie M.

Instructor

I came to try my first Pilates class at Power4 being a fresh college graduate right after the pandemic, not thinking much of it. Little did I know just how much of an impact this class would have on my life. I immediately fell in love with Pilates and Power4 and began coming to the studio daily.

I saw and felt the remarkable ways in which Pilates helped to better my life and my health. What I love most about Pilates is how it strengthens our mind-body connection. I believe that Pilates allows us to feel stronger, more confident and be the best versions of ourselves. It wasn’t until later that I realized I wanted to help other people feel these same benefits, which is why I decided to go through Teacher Training. What started as a passion, turned into a career for me. I became a teacher and forever student of Pilates.

Some of my favorite things about being an instructor at Power4 Pilates are the strong bonds I’ve built with clients and members, being able to use my creativity, and being part of such a strong and uplifting team. I believe wholeheartedly in the magic of Pilates and everything that comes with it here at Power4, and feel so grateful that I get to advocate for it daily.

Outside of work, I enjoy outdoor walks and hikes, spending quality time with family and friends, trying new recipes, and traveling.

Stacey

Instructor
I began practicing Pilates to address a bulging disc and early-onset osteoarthritis in my lumbar spine. Following my doctors’ recommendations to improve core strength and overall flexibility, I started practicing Pilates. After six months of consistent practice, personally and at a studio along with regular stretching at home, I noticed significant improvements in my core strength, control, and mobility. After about a year, I experienced substantial gains in strength and control helping cut my back pain in half. Encouraged by one of my favorite instructors, I decided to pursue a career in teaching Pilates. While training with Balanced Body Education, I learned from some of the best instructors in the Bay Area, gaining valuable insights into Pilates and body mechanics. Since completing my Comprehensive Pilates certification, I have focused on helping clients connect with their bodies more precisely and efficiently. I strive to help them understand how better body connection and control can improve their daily lives and address specific physical issues. I currently work with a diverse range of clients, from high school athletes, including dancers, swimmers, and tennis players, to post-retirement clients in their 80s. Some of my clients face severe limitations, such as rotator cuff surgeries, hip and knee replacements, spinal fusions, various back surgeries, and diastasis recti. I also have completed my Barre Instructor certification and am currently working on a certification for the Pilates Suspension Method, an exciting form of Pilates utilizing TRX straps. Known for being a stickler for form, I emphasize proper technique in both group classes and private sessions. Even though I come across a little strict sometimes when teaching, my personality genuinely shines and I express myself through my teaching, occasionally cracking a joke here and there. I value the ability to be more hands-on with clients in private settings to assist them finding the proper connections and I believe that private sessions can be beneficial for everyone at all times because the most important aspect of Pilates is learning to do it correctly, with precision, awareness, and breath. I am passionate about Pilates and love seeing how it benefits our members and clients. Take a class with me and see for yourself! I look forward to seeing you in my group classes or private sessions.
