Charlene is a Bay Area native and proud first-generation Filipina American. She earned her Bachelor’s in Business Management from Florida International University. Her teaching journey began unexpectedly after the loss of my older brother in 2016, which led her inward. Through yoga, she began to reconnect with her body and mind—and during a class she was attending held on my campus, she was asked to step in and teach. With no prior experience, she said yes—and kept going.
Charlene now holds over 700 hours of certification and several years of yoga teaching experience. While working at a yoga studio in Miami, she was first introduced to Pilates. Her interest deepened throughout her training studies with an osteopath in Bali, where she explored the body’s structure, functions, and interconnected systems.
Back in the Bay Area, she took her first Reformer class at Power4—and has been committed to Pilates ever since. Since joining the teacher training program, it has been a path of study, self-practice, collaboration, and finding creativity in foundation. She believes movement is medicine and should be approached with gratitude.
Her classes center around delivering a challenging experience that builds strength, endurance, and control—all while encouraging accessibility, healthy alignment, and deep body awareness. Expect slow, intentional movement that burns, tests balance and coordination, and leaves you stronger, more connected, and fully worked. Charlene values meeting people where they are, and guiding them into powerful movements. She hopes you’ll be in her classes for all of the fun!
Outside of the studio, you can find her with my huge family and training my puppy Blue. Karaoke at family parties had her singing at a young age, so she listens to music while doing almost everything! She loves warm, tropical weather, the sun, and the ocean—but still doesn't know how to swim. Her favorite thing to do is explore and is always looking for adventure, no drive or trip is ever too far for me. Charlene loves to travel! Some of her favorite experiences from my many adventures has to be eating breakfast with orangutans, paddle board yoga, jet skiing, driving ATV’s, walking the stage for her diploma, river rafting, the Hundred Acre Woods in Disney World, zip lining, doing an elephant mud bath, and meeting with her many tattoo artists.
Fun fact: All of Charlene’s tattoos are a tribute to her family and significant moments throughout her life!
