Berrit

Instructor

Berrit’s Pilates journey began at West Valley College, where she was first introduced to mat and reformer Pilates. From the beginning, she was drawn to the strength, body awareness, and confidence the practice gave her. That experience sparked a desire to help others discover what their own bodies are capable of through movement. In 2024, Berrit found her way to Power4 when she took a class at the Los Gatos studio. Soon after, she joined the front desk team with the goal of becoming a full-time instructor. With the support of the Power4 team, she completed the in-house Teacher Training program and earned her 500-hour comprehensive Pilates certification in June 2026. The experience taught her the importance of staying curious, trusting the process, and continuing to learn—values she carries with her into every class she teaches.

Berrit’s teaching style is cheerful, encouraging, and focused on helping clients feel confident as they challenge themselves. She especially enjoys teaching traditional Reformer Flow and Level 1 classes, where clients have the opportunity to build a strong foundation, develop body awareness, and deepen their mind-muscle connection. She loves pairing challenging movement with full-body strengthening and stretching so clients leave class feeling accomplished, refreshed, and more connected to their bodies.

She also loves teaching private sessions, where she can personalize movement around each client’s individual goals and needs. The one-on-one setting gives her the opportunity to get to know her clients more deeply while helping them better understand how their bodies move.

One of Berrit’s most meaningful experiences as an instructor began with a private client who was looking for a safe and supportive way to move while navigating ongoing physical challenges. Over time, the client developed greater body awareness and control, discovered new mind-muscle connections, and became more comfortable with spinal articulation and upper-body movement. Eventually, she felt confident enough to incorporate group classes into her routine. Watching that progress strengthened Berrit’s eye for detail and reinforced how powerful thoughtful cueing and individualized movement can be.

Outside the studio, Berrit is a San Jose native who loves cooking, baking, crafting, spending time with her loved ones, and hanging out with her 5-year-old Chihuahua mix, Bosco. Berrit continues to approach Pilates with curiosity and a genuine love of learning. She brings positive energy and encouragement to every session and is passionate about helping clients build strength, confidence, and a deeper connection with their bodies.
